Nepal tourism Board (NTB) is a National Organization newly established by an act of Parliament in the form of partnership between Government of Nepal, and the private sector tourism industry of Nepal. It was established in 1998 A.D. by the Nepal tourism act, 2053 in partnership between government and the private sector and given the role of the national tourism organization. It is responsible for all the marketing activities aimed at develop, expand and promote Nepal as a premier tourism destination. It aims, therefore, to establish Nepal as an attractive destination in the global tourism map to achieve this objective. The organization structure of corporate service, tourism marketing and promotion, and tourism products and resources development.
The Board is an autonomous institution consisting of 11 board members (the secretary at the MOTCA as chairman and 4 ex-office members from Government Ministries and 6 from among the private sector representatives including the Chef Executive Officer. The board has been created to provide a vision drawn leadership, continuity of promotional efforts, good management and guidance to Nepal's tourism industry. The funds for the NTB will be collected from the entire tourism related business in the form of tourist service fee, thereby keeping it financially independent. The board is working towards repositioning the image of the country to market and promote tourism of Nepal aggressively and extensively in both domestic and international areas.
Objectives of NTB
☞To develop and introduce Nepal as an attractive tourist destination in the international market.
☞To promote the tourism industry in the country while working for the conservation of natural, and cultural resources.
☞To work towards increasing the gross domestic products and foreign exchange income by means of promoting the tourism industries.
☞To work towards increasing the employment opportunities in the same industry.
☞To develop Nepal's as a secure, dependable as well as an attractive travel destination by establishing a respectable travel trade.
☞To work towards providing quality service to the tourism visiting in Nepal.
☞To study bottlenecks against the same by means of conducting research and getting same important measures adopted to address the problems.
☞To promote and develop institutions for the promotion of tourism industry.
☞To established the towering image of the destination in the world community through developing Nepal as a safe, reliable and attractive destination.
☞To undertake applied research to address the problems associated with the quality of tourism products and assist to establish the necessary institutions for development of tourism business.
Functions of NTB
☞To formulate necessary programs and implement or facilitate to implement them for the development of tourism infrastructures, manpower and conservation environment of the tourist destinations.
☞To make possible of establishment, perfection, development, expansion, promotion and protection of tourists trade, etc.
☞To maintain coordination among the activities of individuals, institution and organizations in order to providing quality services to the tourists.
☞To increase optimum participation of private sector in the activities for the development, expansion, promotion of travel and tourism trade.
☞To develop different tourism attractions of Nepal and improve and enhance the land, water, air, road infrastructures, and entertainment activities in different part of the country.
☞To organize MICE tourism and conduct various socio-cultural fare and festivals, sports, etc. with participation of private sectors.
☞To provide technical knowledge, skill, instructions and support to the persons, groups and organizations involved in travel and tourism industries.
☞To mobilize investment in the development of tourism infrastructures and superstructures in tourism destinations.
☞To give necessary suggestions and advice to the government and tourism council for the better expansion of tourism industries and advice to the tourism entrepreneur on tourism related issues.
