Nepal Academy of Hotel Management formerly known as Hotel Management & Tourism Training Centre (HMTTC) was established by Government of Nepal in the year 1972 A.D. with the technical
assistance of ILO/UNDP to produce skilled manpower much needed by the industry. Since the established, it has been providing basic level skill oriented trainings in the field of hotel and tourism. As the tourism and hotel industry grew rapidly in the past decades, the need for professionally trained higher-level manpower was evident. The goals of NATHM are:
☞To prepare a trained and skilled workforce required for the tourism and hospitality industries.
☞To conduct long term higher level academic programs to produce managerial level personnel, and ☞to provide consultancy and carry out surveys and research for the development of tourism.
Now, in order to cope with the ever-increasing demand for the managerial level personnel, Academy has commenced the 3 years Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM), and Masters in Hotel Management (MHM) courses in affiliation to TU, since 1999 and 2003 A.D. respectively. The vocational training available in NATHM includes:
☞Front office operation
☞Housekeeping operation
☞Food preparation and control
☞Food and beverage service
☞One year diploma in accommodation operation, and maintenance management
☞Guide training related to tour, trekking and rafting.
