Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC)

Nepal Airlines was first established as Royal Nepal Airlines (RNA) in 1958 which later on, with the enactment of Nepal Airline Corporation Act. 1962, it was incorporated as a state owned company in the same year as Royal Nepal Airline corporation (RNAC), which today is known as Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC). Its main objective is to provide air transport service to any person, agency or organization. AS per Nepal airlines corporation act 1962 A.D., the major functions of the NAC are as follows:

☞To run the air transport for business or other purpose and perform all types of functions related to       civil aviation.
☞To impact education and training to the personnel who want to join the corporation or someday           else on all types of function related to flying the aero planes.
☞To develop the feeder service and improve the types of aircrafts used in the air transport and take         actions for development of air transport services conducted by the corporation inside and outside         the country.
☞To seek the help of foreign companies in the required areas where Act mandates it to do those             functions.

At present, NAC operates 10 international destinations namely Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai in India, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Osaka, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur in South East/Far East Asia and Dubai in Middle East. Direct flights to and from Dubai were resumed from June 17, 2002 and flights to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are recently operated from March 31,2003 this year. In Domestic operations, it connects more than 30 destinations inside Nepal.
