Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) is non-political, non-profit making, non-governmental pioneer and national association of restaurant and bar industry Nepal. It is established in 1990 A.D. It is recognized as the main representative body of tourism industry in Nepal. As tourism has been one the main industries in Nepal, restaurant business as an integral part of tourism industry plays a vital role in this field.
The main objectives are:
☛To upgrade standards of restaurant and bars,
☛To enhance mutual cooperation, understanding and goodwill between the restaurant and bar entrepreneurs, and
☛To help catering industries producing trained and skilled manpower.
Since its inception in 1990, REBAN has been concentrating its activities in providing, in-services trainings to the staffs of its all member restaurants in order to upgrade the skills in their respective fields. It has been organizing food festivals in major cities of Nepal to make people taste the varieties of food that are available in the restaurants in Nepal. It has been participating in the festive abroad to provide an exposure to the authentic Nepalese cuisine. In this regard, it so far has organized eight mega fun food festivals and many other festivals. Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN),at present, has more than 100 leading restaurants and bars of the country as its members. Besides activities related to the professional development, it also organizes workshops and seminars on food hygiene and issues related to the environment.
Some other objectives of the association :
☛Contribute to the healthy development of tourism industry and business.
☛Develop goodwill among restaurant and bar agents on all subjects of common interests and welfare and protect the professional interests.
☛Provide cooperation and consultation to Nepal government for the promotion of tourism in Nepal.
☛Stimulate feelings of close coordinate and professional ethics among all components engaged in tourism industry and trade.
☛Obtain national and international recognition for the association.
☛Promote and safeguard the interests of other professionals, trade and industries that are ancillary to tourism.
☛Make wide publicity for tourism development of Nepal.
